Scrappy Quilt Tops

Miles of thread, a tote each of greens and blues scrap fabric, a faithful Bernina and snippets of time whenever the mood or deadlines dictated have combined to make some rather colorful and eclectic donation quilt tops.  Far more time was spent cutting the scraps into useable shapes.  Three tops were strip pieced jellyroll style.

Both of these tops could be pieced together as a queen bed quilt  or stand alone as separate large lap quilts.  The 3" strip widths give a slightly different look than the one below using 2" strip widths.
The next quilt top was crazy pieced using all the leftover scraps from the last 5 Teddy Bear Tea quilts I made.
These and future scrap tops I make will be donated to various local agencies that help mothers and children in crises.  I enjoy making the tops while other members in our quilt guild prefer to finish them.  This joint effort works perfectly while meeting the needs of others.
